After the nerve wrecking day through the ice we arrived in the horseshoe shaped island Hornemann OE on the 27th of July. We dropped our anchor in the bottom of the bay and got ready to do some hiking.
We packed all ten of us into the dinghy and headed for shore.
Once ashore the climb started. It was pretty much straight up from the get-go.
After about 200 meters of vertical height behind us we reached the ridge that would lead us to the very top.
Already we could experience some amazing views.
We still had a couple of kilometers ahead of us before we got to the top, and a twenty meter almost vertical climb at the very end. But when we finally got there the view was indescribable.
When we finally decided to head back down, we came across a glacier we didn’t see on our way up. Definitely fun for the whole family.
Once back at sea-level part of the crew tried their fishing luck, no luck this time unfortunately
