Last days on Greenland
With only two more days on Greenland, and still so much more we want to see, we made ourselves a plan. Fill up on fuel and food in Kuumiuut, where we currently are. Then head north, a quick stop at the abandon airstrip we visited on the way south, so Mari, Vegar, Stig and Per Morten could explore it, to then anchor up in Sermiligaq, the last civilization on the northeast coast. Early the next morning we would sail 30 nautical-miles north to Storoe for a last landfall before heading back over to Iceland.
While we were fueling up in Kuumiuut we got a visit from a lot of other Norwegians that were on a weeklong kayak trip on Greenland.
After arriving in Sermiligaq we had one of our traditional spaghetti with meat-sauce dinners.
After dinner we tried our luck fishing again, and this time we finally caught one. Not enough to feed the hole crew, but a nice evening snack for some.
Early the next morning we headed north up to Storoe. Sailing between many beautiful icebergs.
Once at Storoe we dropped the anchor and Mari and Vegar took the kayak’s for a spin.
Then we were ready for one last hike. Which also gave us an opportunity to check out the driftice situation further from land.
And what would complete a nice long hike, a cold refreshing swim I’ll guess.
Finishing up our last day on Greenland with a nice hamburger meal, before getting the boat passage ready.
Then the last picture from Greenland:
The three brothers.
